Adoptable Dogs

Looking to adopt a dog in the Saratoga area? You’re in the right place! Below you’ll find HOPE dogs currently searching for their forever homes. Every dog in our care receives appropriate veterinary care and goes home spayed/neutered, with age-appropriate vaccines and testing.

Found a pup you love (or a few)? The first step is to complete our online adoption application. Once applications are reviewed—including a vet check (when available) and a virtual or in-home visit—approved adopters will be invited to set up a meet-and-greet with their potential new best friend.

Adoption Requirements

To ensure the best possible match for both our dogs and adopters, the following requirements apply:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • If renting, we will contact your landlord to confirm your pet policy
  • A vet reference check will be conducted for current or previous pets
    • Adopters must contact their veterinary office to grant permission for records to be released to HOPE
    • All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered (medical exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
  • A home visit is required
    • Conducted virtually or in person, depending on location and household pets
    • This helps ensure a safe and successful match
  • Household agreement is required
    • All members of the home must be in agreement about adding a new dog
  • A meet-and-greet is required
    • All resident pets (cats/dogs) must meet the adoptable dog prior to placement
    • It is strongly encouraged that all household members participate

Puppy-Specific Requirement

  • Puppies under 6 months must be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age*
  • A nonrefundable adoption fee is collected at the time of adoption
  • Ownership remains with HOPE until proof of spay/neuter is provided
  • Ownership transfers to the adopter upon confirmation of the procedure

Adoption Fees

  • Adoption fees for dogs start at $275
  • HOPE proudly offers a Senior-to-Senior Program (70+/7+)
    • Eligible adopters receive a reduced adoption fee of $100

  • HOPE is not responsible for coordinating meetings or medical care for Courtesy Post pets
  • If interested in a Courtesy Post animal, please apply as usual and we will connect you directly with the current owner
