Project Description

We are so happy to share with you some good news about Artie. As you remember, we adopted Artie from your shelter on November 13th, 2020. We knew he had ringworm so the poor little guy was quarantined in our bathroom until it healed up. We gave up our master bath so he could have more room and a small window. We kept a camera on him so that we could enjoy his late evening antics (like climbing our robes).

We took him to our regular vet, and after a few visits (and two different topicals creams) he was finally released from quarantine on December 23rd. Just in time for Christmas!

He’s now met our tomcat Milo, who is slowly warming up to him. Artie is his shadow – where Milo goes, Artie is 3 feet behind. If Milo runs through the house, Artie runs right behind him.

Remember what a calm, cautious kitty he was at the shelter? Well he has definitely come out of his shell. It’s like we have a kitten! Everything is a toy. He darts from one end of the house to the other, jumping up on the couches like a parkour expert… often dragging his wand toy behind him. He’s been enjoying looking out all the windows, watching the fish tank, the backyard chickens, and startling the birds at the window bird feeder. He serenades us in the evenings as he strolls through the house, maybe telling us his thoughts on our home decor.

We are so happy he’s joined our little family. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt him and for the important work you do!

Sincerely,

Dan and Sarah
