Martha Belviso, affectionately known as ‘Marty’, was born in Ohio on May 31, 1953 and from the very start, was a true force to reckon with. Whether you met her once or were in her presence numerous times, she left quite an impression.

Marty was gold; true charisma with a beautifully radiant smile to all those who she met from all over. She had a magnetic presence; warm, witty and unforgettable.

During her early adult years, she pursued a career in finance and became successfully skilled in banking, mortgage brokering and real estate. She had a deep appreciation for people and prosperity. In the 1980s, she decided to star in the hospitality industry and boy did she shine.

Marty’s vibrant, charismatic personality, genuine warmth and excellent mixology skills made her an icon in the hospitality scene from southern Florida to Upstate New York. Her infectious laughter, quick wit and classic one-liners, Marty could handle any crowd at any time with her signature charm. She earned the names ‘Marty the Party’ and ‘The Hired Gun.’ When you met Marty, she would always make you feel welcome and important and had a unique ability to connect with patrons; old and new.

Marty was not only dedicated to her work, but also to her loved ones. She had a huge heart and held her family and friends very close. In her free time, she would study astrology and would semi-joke about using her powers to align the planets, and above all, she LOVED animals, especially cats. She enjoyed giving much financial and emotional support to saving strays, and they were her ‘babies’. For so long, she sent financial assistance and food to numerous organizations to help nurture young and old cats in need. If she could have taken in all of the strays on the east coast, she would have, much like she took in so many hearts of all those who met her. She had such a dynamic way that made so many feel so special; cats and humans alike.

On Sunday May 11, 2025, Marty passed away and left behind a legacy of joy, warmth, laughter and unforgettable memories. While dealing with the pain of cancer, Marty never once stopped dealing with her work responsibilities at Siro’s, her love for her family and friends, and her cats of course. (She left behind 4).

Whether you were served by Marty, cared for by her, worked with her or celebrated with her, the times that you spent with Marty were unforgettable. Marty is immortal and those impressions that she made are everlasting and can never be replaced. Marty’s spirit will forever shine on for generations to come. To honor her legacy, we are proud to partner with H.O.P.E. Animal Rescue in Saratoga, a community she loved dearly. This alliance ensures that her passion for helping animals continues to shine like she did.

H.O.P.E’s Promise of Intent: Purrfectly Marty Fund

In honor of the extraordinary life and compassion of Marty Belviso, H.O.P.E. Animal Rescue proudly established the Purrfectly Marty Fund—a lasting tribute to her love for animals and her belief in helping those in need.

Each year, a portion of this fund is dedicated to supporting local community members facing financial hardship related to pet care, including emergency vet bills, pet deposits, or basic supplies. Remaining funds help provide medical treatment for HOPE’s most vulnerable animals—those abandoned, abused, or in critical need of care beyond routine support.

All requests for assistance are thoughtfully reviewed by H.O.P.E.’s Board of Directors and awarded at their discretion, ensuring that Marty’s legacy continues to serve others with kindness, integrity, and heart.

Her love saved lives. Through this fund, it still does.
