We are looking to rehome our cat, Rosie.
Rosie is an 8 year old all white domestic short hair- Siamese mix. She has only ever been an indoor cat. She is friendly, playful, independent, affectionate, she is really good at using the litter box every time, she doesn’t ever use her nails other than to scratch a cat post, and she likes to be around people. She liked playing with our other cat when she was alive.
The less desirable parts of her personality are as follows… although she is affectionate it is on her terms, she quickly gets over-stimulated with petting, and she is scared to go to the vets office (after having a bad experience). Her go-to response when she is over-stimulated, scared…etc has always been to nip. We have had her since a kitten and I can’t recall her ever breaking skin. Because of her lack of tolerance with handling she is not a good pet for little kids. This is why we are rehoming her. We have a 3 year old and a baby on the way.
She is up to date with all her medical needs, and has been healthy other then her history of megacolon. She was diagnosed with megacolon years ago. She had surgery to repair her colon 4 years ago and has done really well since. We found that she does best when on a daily dose of flagyl. I give her the pill myself and a few treats afterwards. She comes running over to take it every night. She also eats a special hills prescription diet dry food. She may be able to discontinue either or both of these we never tried to take her off since it was working.
We have been trying for a month to rehome her and no one is getting back to us.
